Following the theme of transformation and rebirth, I chose the symbol of the Phoenix bird to symbolize these ideas.
This is also the first painting where I’m using myself as the model in the nude. It felt risky, but the painting was asking it of me. Sometimes, you’ve got to be vulnerable and take risks if you want your artistic expression to evolve.
